The Glory of God in the Bible

The Glory of God

 in Hebrews and James

Power of an endless life

God has in these last days spoken to us

by His Son,

whom He appointed heir of all things,

by whom He made the worlds;

Who being the brightness of His glory,

and the exact image of His person,

and upholding all things

by the word of His power,

when He had, by Himself, purged our sins,

sat down on the right hand

of the Majesty on high:

being so much better than the angels

for the Father only said to Jesus,

You are My Son.

3

And when He brought His firstborn into the world, He said, Let all the angels of God worship Him.

And, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever:

You love only right, and hate iniquity;

Who in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth;

and the heavens are the works of Your hands:

They will perish; but You remain.

Your years are endless.

Only to Jesus, He said,

4

Sit at My right hand

until I make Your enemies Your footstool.

Jesus, made a little lower than the angels

to die for our sins,

is now crowned with glory and honor

because through death

He destroyed Him that had the power of death, becoming a merciful and faithful high priest

in things pertaining to God,

to restore them to Himself:

having been tested,

He is able to help those that are tested, refined.

5

So keep your mind on Jesus;

Let there be no evil heart of unbelief in any of you,

departing from the living God.

Let’s rest in Him who finished the works

for us

before the foundation of the world.

We have a High Priest who sits at the right hand

of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

By His own blood He entered

the true ‘holy of holies’ in heaven

and there obtained eternal redemption for us.

6

having cleansed all the sin of all the universe

through all the ages:

Hebrews 9

By one offering, the holy, eternal Son of God

perfected forever those that believe

and sat down on the right hand of God.

By faith in Him Sarah received strength to have a child when she was past age,

because she counted Him faithful who had promised,

and from this one came

as many as the stars of the sky in multitude,

7

and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. Hebrews 11:11,12

By faith Moses, counting the reproach of Christ

greater riches than the treasures in Egypt:

for he looked to the reward.

He endured, seeing Him who is invisible.

By faith the Israelites passed through the Red sea

on dry land

while the Egyptians drowned.

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down.

They were 18 feet tall and 13 feet thick.

8

By faith others subdued kingdoms,

stopped the mouths of lions.

 quenched fire,

escaped the sword,

put to flight the armies of foreigners,

received their dead raised to life again.

Like them, let us look to Jesus

the author and finisher of our faith;

who for the joy that was set before Him

endured the cross, despising the shame,

and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1,2

My children, don’t despise the discipline of the Lord

9

for whom the Lord loves He disciplines.

We revere our earthly fathers who corrected us:

shall we not

much more

be in subjection to the Father of spirits,

and live?

It’s for our profit,

that we might be partakers of His holiness,

to dwell forever in the city of the living God,

the Judge of all,

with countless angels,

and the spirits of just men made perfect,

Don’t refuse Him that speaks.

10

For if they didn’t escape

who refused Him that spoke on earth,

much more, we won't escape,

if we turn away from Him

that speaks from heaven:

whose voice then shook the earth

and has promised,

Still, once more,

I will shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

Seeing we are receiving an unshakable kingdom

let’s have grace, from which to serve God acceptably

with reverence and godly fear:

For our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews12:25-29

11

We boldly say, The Lord is my helper,

and I will not fear what man does to me.

For Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today,

 and forever. Hebrews13:6,8

Now the God of peace,

that brought again from the dead

our Lord Jesus,

that great Shepherd of the sheep,

through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Make you perfect in every good work to do His will,

making us well-pleasing in His sight,

through Jesus Christ;

to whom be glory for ever and ever.

Hebrews 13:20,21

12

The Book of James

It’s all for joy when you are tested for it removes pride and fills us with Him. And you will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to them that love Him. James 1:2-4, 12,13

Never say God tempts you,  for He cannot tempt anyone: He refines from His love.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,

from the Father of lights,

with whom is no variableness,

or shadow of turning.

James 1:17

13

His wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle,

and full of mercy

without partiality,

and without hypocrisy.

James 3:17

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Draw near to God,

and He will draw near to you.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord,

and He will lift you up. James 4:6,10

Christ didn’t enter the holy places on earth,

made with hands,

but into heaven itself,

14

to appear in the presence of God

 for us

to put away sin

by the sacrifice of Himself.

Bearing all the sin of all the universe

through all the ages.

Hebrews 9

And He invites all,

Come to Me all you that are weary

and heavy loaded.

I will give you rest.

Join with Me and learn of Me

for I am humble and low of heart

and you will find rest for your soul.

What I require (simple trust)

is easy and light.

15

I will come and receive you to Myself

that where I am you will be.

John 14:3

In Eternal Glory

The Glory of God

in Peter

Not willing that any perish

Blessed be the God and Father

of our Lord Jesus Christ,

who, according to His abundant mercy

has begotten us again to a living hope

by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled,

and that doesn’t fade away,

reserved in heaven for you

who are kept by the power of God

through faith unto salvation.

Now for a season, if needed to build your faith,

you are in grief through many testings:

3

that the trial of your faith,

being much more precious than of gold that perishes,

though tried with fire,

might be found to praise and honor and glory

at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

 whom having not seen, you love;

though you don’t see Him now,

yet believing,

you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory,

receiving the end of your faith,

the salvation of your souls:

as obedient children,

turning away from the former lusts,

you are becoming holy

as He who called you is holy.

  4

For you weren’t redeemed with corruptible things,

as silver and gold,

from your empty way of life

received by tradition from your fathers;

But with the precious blood of Christ,

By Him

you believe in God,

that raised him from the dead,

and gave Him glory;

that your faith and hope might be in God.

For all flesh is as grass,

and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.

The grass withers, and its flower falls away:

But the word of the Lord endures forever.

5

You are a chosen generation,

a royal priesthood, a holy nation,

a special people

to show the praises of Him

who called you out of darkness

into His marvellous light.

1 Peter 2:9

Christ suffered for us, an example,

who did no sin:

when He was reviled,

reviled not again; and didn’t threaten, but committed Himself to Him that judges rightly:

Who His own self bore our sins

in His own body on the tree,

that we, being dead to sins, would live rightly,

by whose wounds we were healed.

6

You were as sheep going astray;

but are now returned to the Shepherd

and Bishop of your souls.

Avoid evil and do good.

Seek peace and follow it.

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous,

and His ears are open to their prayers:

but the face of the Lord is against those that do evil.

Set the Lord God above all else in your hearts:

1 Peter 3:11,12,15

Christ suffered once for sins,

7

the just for the unjust, to bring us to God,

being put to death in the flesh,

but made alive again by the Spirit:

By which He then went

and preached to the spirits in prison

who were disobedient,

when once the long suffering of God

waited in the days of Noah,

while the ark was being prepared,

in which eight souls were saved by water.

1 Peter 3:18-20

An example of baptism,

by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

who is gone into heaven

8

and is at the right hand of God;

angels and authorities and powers

being made subject to Him.

All will give account to Him

Who is ready

to judge the living and the dead.

1 Peter 4:5

Rejoice, when you share Christ's sufferings;

that, when His glory is revealed,

you will rejoice with exceeding joy.

If you are reproached for the name of Christ,

you are happy, for the Spirit of glory

and of God rests on you:

9

When you suffer according to the will of God ,

commit the keeping of your soul to Him in doing right,

as to a faithful Creator. 1 Peter 4:19

Feed the flock of God among you willingly;

not for money or lording it over God's heritage,

but be examples to the flock.

And when the chief Shepherd appears,

you will receive a crown of glory that never fades.

Be clothed with humility for God

resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

1 Peter 5:2-5

10

Humble yourselves therefore

under the mighty hand of God,

that He may exalt you in due time.

Cast all your care on Him

for He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:6,7

Be sober, be vigilant;

because your adversary the devil,

as a roaring lion, walks about,

seeking whom He may devour.

Resist steadfast in the faith,

knowing that the same afflictions

are in your brothers that are in the world.

11

But the God of all grace,

who has called us to His eternal glory

by Christ Jesus,

after you have suffered a bit,

will make you perfect, establish, strengthen,

and settle you.

To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.

1 Peter 5:8-11

 2 Peter

God’s divine power has given us

all things that pertain to life and godliness,

through the knowledge of Him

that called us

to glory and virtue.

12

Exceedingly great and precious promises

have been given to us,

that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption

that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 1:2-4

We made known to you the power

and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

and were eyewitnesses of His majesty

when He received from God the Father

honor and glory, when He spoke to Him

from the excellent glory, saying,

This is My beloved Son,

in whom I am well pleased.

13

And we heard this Voice

that came from heaven

when we were with Him in the holy mount.

All prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:

but holy men of God spoke

as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

 2 Peter 1:16-21

The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations,

and to reserve the unjust

to the day of judgment to be punished.

2 Peter 2:9

The Lord is not slow concerning His promise

but is long suffering toward us,

14

not willing that any perish,

but that all turn back to Him.

For the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;

the heavens will pass away with a great noise,

the earth and its works will be burned up.

And we will see the new heavens and  new earth,

where righteousness dwells.

Peter 3:13

A pure river of water of life, clear as crystal,

proceeds out of the throne of God.

And we will see His face.

And will reign forever and ever.

Revelation 22:1

15

Where I am you will be

The Glory of God

in 1 John -Jude

Eternal life, which was with the Father

was shown to us.

Truly our fellowship is with the Father,

and with His Son Jesus Christ:

and we write these things to you,

that your joy may be full.

3

God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.

If we walk in the light, as He is in the light,

we have fellowship with each another,

and the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son,

cleanses us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,

and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just

to forgive us our sins,

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

Whoever keep/guards His word,

in Him, truly, the love of God is perfected:

1 John 2:5

4

Don’t love the world system, or the things

that are in the world.

If any man loves the world,

the love of the Father isn't in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh,

and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,

is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passes away, and its lusts:

but he that does the will of God remains forever.

1 John 1:15-17

You have an anointing from the Holy One,

and you know all things.

He that acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

5

And He has promised us eternal life.

1 John 1:25

Now, little children, stay in Him;

that, when He appears, we may have confidence,

and not be ashamed

before Him at His coming.

1 John 1:28

Behold, what manner of love

the Father has bestowed on us,

for us to be called the sons of God:

therefore the world doesn’t know us,

because it didn’t know Him.

6

Beloved, now we are the sons of God,

and it doesn’t yet appear what we will be:

but we know that, when He appears,

we will be like Him;

for we will see Him as He is.

And every man that has this hope in him

 purifies Himself,

even as He is pure.

1 John 3:1-3

He was revealed to take away our sins;

and in Him is no sin.

 1 John 3:5

God is greater than our heart,

and knoweth all things.

1 John 3:20

We are of God, little children,

and have overcome them:

because greater is He that is in you,

than He that is in the world.

 1 John 4:4

God sent His only begotten Son into the world,

that we might live through Him.

7

This is love, not that we loved God,

but that He loved us,

and sent His Son to be the removal our sins.

If we love one another, God dwells in us,

His love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:9-12

We love Him, because He first loved us.

1 John 4:19

Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ

is born of God: 1 John 5:1

Whatever is born of God overcomes the world:

and this is the victory that overcomes the world,

our faith.

Who is he that overcomes the world,

but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

1 John 5: 4,5

8

God has given to us eternal life,

and this life is in His Son.

He that has the Son has life;

and he that doesn’t have the Son of God

doesn’t have life.

The truth dwells in us, and will be with us forever.

 2 John 2

Many deceivers have entered the world,

who say that the anointed Savior hasn’t come yet.

This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Look to yourselves,

that we lose not those things which we have done,

but that we receive a full reward.

9

He that stays in the doctrine of Christ

has both the Father and the Son.

2 John  1:7-9

If anyone comes to you,

and doesn’t bring this doctrine,

don’t receive him into your house,

or bless him in God:

For he that bids him God speed

is partaking of his evil deeds.

2 John 1:11

10

Beloved, I wish above all things

that you prosper and be in health,

even as your soul prospers. 3 John 2

………..

Jude

Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ,

and brother of James,

to those that are sanctified by God the Father,

and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

Mercy to you, and peace,

and love, be multiplied. Jude 1,2

Earnestly contend for the faith

that has been delivered to the saints

for certain men crept in secretly, ungodly men,

who turn the grace of our God into unbridled lust,

and deny the only Lord God,

and our Lord Jesus Christ.

11

I want you to remember,

though you once knew this,

that the Lord,

having saved the people out of the land of Egypt,

afterward destroyed those that didn’t believe.

And the angels that didn’t keep their first estate,

but left their own dwelling,

God has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness

until the judgment of the great day. Jude 3-6

And Sodom and Gomorrha,

and the cities around them,

gave themselves over to fornication,

and going after strange flesh,

13

are set as an example for an example,

suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Raging waves of the sea,

 foaming out their own shame;

wandering stars, to whom is reserved

the blackness of darkness forever.

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam,

prophesied of these, saying,

Behold, the Lord comes

with ten thousands of His saints,

to execute judgment on all,

and to show all that are ungodly the truth of their deeds,

and of all their hard words

they have spoken against Him. Jude 13-15

14

Beloved,

build up yourselves up

in your most holy faith,

praying in the Holy Spirit.

Keep yourselves in the love of God,

looking for the mercy

of our Lord Jesus Christ into eternal life.

Now to Him that is able to keep you from falling,

and to present you faultless

before the presence of His glory

with exceeding joy,

to the only wise God our Savior,

be glory and majesty, dominion and power,

both now and ever. Amen.

15

Now and Forever

The Glory of God

in Revelation

Inherit all things

From Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,

and the first begotten of the dead,

and the prince of the kings of the earth.

Unto him that loved us,

and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

3

He has made us kings and priests to God,

His Father.

To Them be glory and dominion forever and ever.

Behold, He comes with clouds;

and every eye will see Him,

even those that pierced Him.

I am the Alpha and Omega,

the beginning and the ending, says the Lord,

who is, and who was, and who is to come,

the Almighty.

I, John, was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,

and heard behind me a great voice, like a trumpet, say, What you see write in a book

and send it to the seven churches.

4

I turned to see the voice that spoke

and saw seven golden lamp stands.

In the center of them stood one like the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot

with a golden band around the chest.

His head and hair as white snow,

His eyes blazing (with love)

and His voice sounded like many waterfalls,

His face shines as the sun.

He said, Don’t be afraid.

I am the first and the last.

I am He that lives, and was dead;

and, behold, I am alive for evermore,

and have the keys of hell and of death.

5

I know your works

and how much you bear for My sake,

but I have something against you.

You have left your first love.

To those that overcome

I will give to eat of the tree of life,

which is in the center of the paradise of God.

Revelation 2:2-4, 7

The first and the last, who was dead, and is alive, says, Don’t fear anything you will suffer to be refined.

Be faithful unto death,

and I will give you a crown of life.

He that overcomes won’t be hurt of the second death. Revelation 2:8-11

6

I am He who searches the emotions and hearts:

and I will give to everyone according to your works.

To those that overcome,

and keep/guard My works to the end

I will give power over the nations.

Revelation 2:23,26

He that is holy, He that is true,

He that opens, and no man shuts;

and shuts, and no man opens,

says of those who lie about you,

I will make them come and worship before your feet,

and know that I love you.

7

Behold, I come quickly:

hold  fast what you have,

that no man take your crown.

Revelation 3:7,9,11

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:

if anyone hears My voice, and opens the door

(to your heart),

I will come in to him, and will feast with him,

and he with Me.

To those that overcome

I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,

even as I overcame,

and am set down with My Father

on His throne.

8

After this I looked, and behold,

a door was opened in heaven:

and the first voice which I heard talking with me, said, Come up here and I will shew you

things which must be hereafter.

And immediately I was in the spirit:

and, behold, a throne was set in heaven,

and one sat on the throne that looked like a jasper

and a sardine stone:

and there was a rainbow round about the throne,

like an emerald.

Revelation 4:1-3

Seraphim, (awesome six-winged beings of light)

were about Him;

9

and they continually say, Holy, holy, holy,

Lord God Almighty, which was, and is,

 and is to come,

giving glory and honor and thanks

to Him that sat on the throne,

who lives forever and ever.

Twenty-four elders fall down before Him

and worship Him that lives forever and ever,

and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

You are worthy, O Lord,

to receive glory and honor and power:

 for You created all things,

and for Your pleasure they are

and were created.

Revelation 4:8-11

10

I heard the voice of many angels around the throne

and the living beings and the elders:

and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain

to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength,

 honor, glory, and blessing.

And every creature in heaven, on the earth,

under the earth, and in the sea, were saying,

 Blessing, honor, glory, and power,

to Him on the throne,

and the Lamb forever and ever. Revelation 5:11-13

11

The Lamb will feed them

and lead them to living fountains of waters:

and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Revelation 7:17

Great and marvelous are Your works,

Lord God Almighty;

just and true are Your ways.

Who will not fear You Lord

and glorify Your name? For only You are holy: Revelation 15:3,4

Ten kings, following evil will make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them:

for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings.

12

The Lord says, Come out, My people,

don’t share their sins, and receive their judgments,

for their sins have reached up to heaven.

Revelation 18:4

After the judgments great multitudes say,

Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.

Rejoice! for the marriage of the Lamb has come.

His bride is clothed in fine white linen,

for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Revelation 19:6-8

I saw a new heaven and a new earth:

13

for the first heaven and the first earth

were passed away;

The holy city came down from God out of heaven,

prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Behold, now God dwells with man,

and God Himself will be with them,

and be their God.

And God will wipe away all tears,

and there will be no more death,

or sorrow, or crying, or pain.

Revelation 21:1-4

I will give the thirsty to drink

of the fountain of the water of life freely.

14

He that overcomes will inherit all things;

and I will their God, and they will be sons/daughters. Revelation 21:6,7

He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

And they will see His face.

When He appears, we will be like Him;

for we will see Him as He is.

1 John 3:2

Seeing the glory of the Lord,

we are changed into the same image

from glory to glory,

by the Spirit of the Lord.

1 Corinthians 3:18
