Live to Him
‘I come that they might have life.’
John 10:10
God formed man from the dust and breathed into his nostrils His ‘breath of life.’
Genesis 2:7
Awakened by the very breath of God, into a stunningly beautiful creation of peace, beauty, glory, and wonder.
Barefoot and naked except for the warm light of God’s love that pulsed inside and around them with every beat of their heart.
God created man in His own image.
Genesis 1:27
3
And God blessed them saying, Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and rule over everything.
I have given you every plant and tree with seeds for food. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, don’t eat from it or ‘dying, you will die.’
Genesis 2:17
You will break your union with God: He alone is life. And your body will begin decay.
With one bite of the only fruit forbidden,
4
the golden splendor of the glory of God in and around them alarmingly vanished. ‘I knew I was naked, so I hid myself.’
Think of the heartbreak of God: The ones created in His very image, and breathing His very breath, turned from Him to His enemy.
All the souls He planned to enjoy His stunningly wonderful creation were now doomed to suffer and die, ‘forever separated from the Lord and His glorious power.’
5
Their union with God was broken by believing a lie. And ‘As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.’ Proverbs 23:7
So, the way back is by believing the truth.
God doesn’t see as man sees. Man looks on the outside, but God looks at the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
A love so deep it couldn’t let go, a promise unfathomable.
The Lord took an innocent little lamb and
6
slaughtered it before their eyes to make them ‘coats of skin to cover their nakedness.’
Genesis 3:21
Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.’ John 1:29
(Archeologists uncovered many lambs bones at the sites of ancient civilizations.)
Only the blood of an infinite, eternal being could cover all the sins of all the universe for all time and eternity.
7
An astonishing promise that the Maker of all would become one of them and die in their place to right the wrong they did to God.
Infinite justice would be served, as all the punishment for every single wrong thought and deed in all the universe past, present, and future would fall on His infinitely holy, infinitely precious Son.
Man, angels, and animals are included in this: Having made peace through the blood
8
of His cross, to reconcile all things to Himself in earth and in heaven.
Colossians 1:20
He wants you with Him so much that He considered it worth it.
Jesus lived a perfect life for you in your place.
When death was defeated
God raised Him up.
It was impossible for an infinite, eternal One to be held by it. Acts 2:24
9
The infinite, eternal Almighty can be held by nothing but your love.
At dawn on first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
And there was a great earthquake for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it. His face was like lightning,
10
his clothing white as snow as he said to the women, ‘He is not here. He is risen.’ Matthew 28:6
The resurrection of Jesus is the most astounding event in human history.
Death conquered! Evil defeated! Jesus said it and did it before the eyes of heaven and the world.
Into the mess of human history
came the Son of God: The glory of holiness, the purity of heaven.
11
Heaven stood aghast. Hell stood aghast, when Jesus stepped into the arena, a baby: God born in human flesh.
John G. Lake
He lived 33 perfect years without one wrong thought or deed: showing His infinite power over the enemy.
Condemned in our place, crowned with thorns, the flesh whipped from His body, nailed to a cross of wood, naked, hanging between heaven and earth.
12
All the wrath of God against every wrong everywhere forever, was poured into the infinitely holy body of Jesus.
Then a sword was thrust
through His heart:
Showing forever that all His desire is toward you with a love that knows no bounds.
Three days later He was seen alive walking around whole by
‘over 500 at one time.’
1 Corinthians 15:6
13
Days later, ‘While they watched, He was taken up to heaven; and a cloud received him out of their sight.’ Acts 1:9
Jesus said to Martha before He raised her brother, Lazarus, from the dead, ‘
I am the resurrection, and the life:
He that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet he will live.’
John 11:25
The night before His death
Jesus told His disciples, I go to prepare a place for you,
14
I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you will be. (The eternal throne.) John 14:3
The Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we will be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord and will
always be with the Lord.’
1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17
All who seek Him have joined themselves to the Eternal.

Where I am you will be
